The natural mineral water made the place ideal for the washing of sheep prior to shearing. It used to be a lovely place and destination for many people for years.

There is a famous story, associated with this place, which makes the place a perfect destination for the hardcore ghost hunters. The story is about the nurse Maria, whose used to work in the hospital for 30 years. She had the reputation of being intimidating, but also for caring deeply about her patients. She passed away in 1960. Since then her ghost was constantly seen by staff and patients - she is known to place blankets on new moms, rearrange medication carts, turn lights on and off. Many even claim that they could see her shadow through the windows of the hospital. This is why it was believed that the house is haunted and it was abandoned in 1980s.
